Bircher muesli / Overnight oats

Instructions

  1. Mix together oats, chia seeds and milk in a bowl and leave in the fridge overnight.

  2. In the morning stir through the fruit and nuts, and add your choice of toppings.

Serves 1. Can be eaten hot or cold. 

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup oats

  • 2 tsp chia seeds

  • 1/2 cup milk 

  • 1 Tbsp chopped nuts 

  • 1 serving of fruit eg. 1 sliced banana, 1 grated pear or apple, 1/2 cup frozen berries, 2 sliced feijoas, plums or kiwifruit.

Topping ideas: 1/3 cup yoghurt, 1/2 Tbsp seeds (eg. pumpkin, sunflower, linseeds), 1/2 tsp cinnamon, drizzle of honey or maple syrup, 1 Tbsp dried fruit, 1/2 Tbsp dried coconut, 1 Tbsp nut butter.
